Current Openings:

Morning Baker

Early mornings; weekday and weekend availability required

Responsibilities include:

  • preparation of batters, dough and dry mixes
  • baking breads and morning pastries
  • following WtG recipes with precision and consistency
  • being responsible for and ensuring the quality of each product you make
  • cleaning and maintaining the workspace, baking equipment, and dishes
  • completing opening and end of shift tasks
  • occasionally taking customer orders and/or serving customers at the Bakery counter
  • maintaining and rotating stock; putting away deliveries

Critical Skills and Behaviours:

  • planning, organizing and prioritizing throughout the day
  • communicating effectively and positively with team members
  • coordinating your own tasks effectively with those of others
  • reading and interpret recipes and adjust according to environmental conditions
  • strong focus on consistency and attention to detail
  • flexibility and adaptability and problem solving skills
  • adherence to and awareness of health and safety standards and precautions
  • previous experience as a professional baker is an asset
  • previous experience with sourdough or pastry is an asset
  • this position requires frequent heavy lifting (40lbs, occasionally up to 80 lbs), use of stairs, extended periods of standing, and repetitive hand and arm movements.
